Max Keeping Bridge

In Ottawa the foot bridge, memorializing Max Keeping, spans the Trans-Canada Highway/Queensway/417, between Coventry Road and Tremblay Road, east of the Vanier Parkway.

Max Keeping Bridge

This bridge is named in recognition of the extensive community service of Max Keeping.

Max Keeping was known as a community leader, a trusted source of news and a tireless advocate of our community's most vulnerable.

Max was a uniquely accessible broadcaster, contributing his time and profile to raise funds for several local charities and causes. It is estimated that his efforts have helpe raise more than $100 million for organizations such as the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), Roger's House, the United Way, the Boys and Girls Club, Operation Come Home and the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.

Max received numerous awards for his advocacy and work in the community such as the Order of Canada, the Order of Ontario, the Key to the City of Ottawa, Honorary Doctorates from the University of Ottawa and Carleton University, and a Gemini Award for Humanitarian Work.

Max has left behind a legacy of giving and positivity. He devoted his life to bringing communities together and helping people reach their full potential.

Pont Max-Keeping

Ce pont est nommé en reconnaissance des services communautaires exceptionnels rendus par Max Keeping.

Max Keeping était un leader communautaire, une source d'information digne de confiance et un ardent défenseur des membres les plus vulnérables de la collectivité.

D'une rare accessibilité, ce chef d'antenne a consacré son temps et mis sa notoriété au service de plusieurs œuvres de bienfaisance et causes locales. On estime qu'il aq permis d'amasser plus de 100 millions de dollars pour des organismes tels que le Centre hospitalier pour enfants de l'est de l'Ontario (CHEO), la Maison de Roger, Centraide, le Club des garçons et filles d'Ottawa, l'Opération rentrer au foyer et la Fondation du cancer de la région d'Ottawa.

Max a reçu plusieurs discinctions pour ses actions militantes et son travail dans la collectivité; il a notamment été nommé membre d'Ordre du Canada et de l'Ordre de l'Ontario et a reçu la clé de la ville d'Ottawa, un doctorate honorifique de l'Université d'Ottawa et un autre de l'Université Carleton ainsi qu'un prix Gemini pour son travail humanitiare.

Max a laissé se générosité et son positivisme en héritage. Il a consacré sa vie à rassembler les communautés et à aider les gens à atteindre leur plein potentiel.
