Sir John A. Macdonald

April 28, 2013

Sir John A. Macdonald was Canada's first prime minister. The details of the memorial are on the plaque.

Sir John A. Macdonald (1815-1891) played a
pivotal role in the formative years of the country.
He led Canada's first government, and guided
the country's growth from a small union of four
provinces to a nation stretching from sea to sea.
Macdonald's greatest achievement, Confederation
(1867), is represented by the figure sigging at the
base of the monument.
